WEEK #2

Many have not completed the brochure necessary for the speech.  If you are having trouble with it, there is a good student example in each class either located in FILES or on the POSTS section.  Most of our class is now through Microsoft TEAMS.  If you cannot get there, I have some instructions located on my web page for getting into Office 365.
THIS WEEK we are doing speeches through TEAMS and live meeting.  It is not a recorded video and uploaded, it is LIVE streaming videos.  Work with PEERS (groups of 3 or 4) to get a time set up with me and we will present through TEAMS.  DO NOT MEET WITH CLASSMATES in person.  We will do it all online.  GET IT done this week.  All students who complete it this week will get a welcome surprise.

SPEECHES

Hey just wondering if we want to give speeches through teams a shot.  I can set up a meeting and if we have three in the meeting we can watch the speeches.  Let me know. I set up a speeches category.  Let's get going on this and see if we can video some speeches!!  I practiced the app today and it will work well I think.

Post possible times that you and some classmates can join a meeting during the week and we can watch speeches.  ALL VIDEO.  DO NOT gather with peers.  VIDEO SPEECHES ONLY

teams

Hey folks I just added you all to a Microsoft team according to your class period.  You must log in with your K12 credentials.  There is a phone app or a computer app.  Either way, let's get all of you logged in.  If we have trouble, let me know what it is so I can clarify instructions for logging in.

Post your speech topic under posts.  We can then assess what we need to do from there.  As we complete the instruction paper, I will have you post your paper to the notebook section so we all can get some feedback.  We will see how this goes

DEMONSTRATION SPEECH

BROCHURE  No need to write in brochure form.  Just a set of instructions with pictures (background removed) will be fine

First Make sure you as students have your topic approved.  IF you do not, please email me or something to get your approval to topic.  douglas.sahli@k12.sd.us

Demonstration speeches will be live and in person upon return to school.

We will continue with the follow up to the speech.  Read the information included in the BROCHURE link above.  Pay special attention to all of the guidelines to writing a good set of instructions.  Then read those gudelines again.  Then read them again.

Write you step by step instructions to your process.  There is no need to write in a column brochure paper.  You must include pictures for most steps.  Remove the background for those pictures.  You can use any program you wish to remove background.  We have used GIMP in class.  It is a free download.  Have a peer read your document to make sure all guidelines are followed.  Share the document with your peer through google docs or office 365.  type this person's name somewhere on the doucment.  Document will then be sent to turnitin.com.  This should be complete by MONDAY
